Synchronous Visits Just Got a Serious Upgrade

We talk a lot about “integrating empathy” at Fabric — empathy for patients, providers, and healthcare organizations. What is the point of innovation if it doesn’t improve the human experience?

Which is why I am so excited to introduce our newest product upgrade: Provider Documentation Templates. Don’t let the name fool you, it may sound dry but this product enhancement is anything but.

Big picture: Provider Documentation Templates improve the synchronous (i.e. video, phone, and chat) visit experience for providers. They save providers time, reduce clinician burden and burnout, and bring the efficiency and clinical quality/consistency built into our asynchronous visits to synchronous modalities.

Prior to this rollout we knew, because we are constantly asking our customers for feedback, that our synchronous workflows weren’t meeting the high standard of efficiency and user experience set by our asynchronous workflows. So we set out to make it better.

As a provider myself, I know what a big deal this will be for the synchronous provider experience. Instead of providers having to start from scratch each visit when typing up SOAP notes and treatment plans, or copy/pasting them from an external document, they will now be able to start from templates loaded right into their system. This will ultimately lead to a better patient experience as well, patients will receive clinically consistent messages AND get more time interacting with providers who aren’t burdened by unnecessarily challenging documentation.

While Fabric has preloaded templates based on our asynchronous content, health systems will also be able to create their own templates at a system level or at a provider level. Providers themselves can also manage and personalize their own template libraries.

Providers saving time, feeling less burden, and gaining clinical efficiency? Patients getting more consistent messaging, less stressed providers, and more time face to face with providers when appropriate? That’s what I call a serious upgrade.

Asynchronous Telemedicine Guide + COVID-19: The Largest Case Study on Async

When we built this guide, we set out to create a single comprehensive resource for everything healthcare professionals will ever need to know about asynchronous telemedicine. It’s 29 pages of pure data, research, and the largest case study ever conducted on async.
